THE LAW OF SOLID GROUND
How important is trust for a leader?
It is the most important thing. Trust is the foundation of leadership. How does a leader build trust? By consistently exemplifying character. A person’s character quickly communicates many things to others. Here are the most important ones:
1. Character communicates consistency. Leaders without inner strength can’t be counted on day after day because their ability to perform changes constantly.
2. Character communicates potential. Poor character is like a time bomb ticking away. It’s only a matter of time before it blows up a person’s ability to perform and the capacity to lead.
3. Character communicates respect. How do leaders earn respect? By making sound decisions, by admitting their mistakes, and by putting what’s best for their followers and the organization ahead of their personal agendas.
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother’s keeper?”
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
– Winston Churchill
“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life–think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”
– Swami Vivekananda
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
Leaders Leading Leaders
I hope that I will always be for each person what he or she needs me to be.
I hope that each person’s death will diminish me, but that fear of my own will never diminish my joy of life.
I hope that my love for those whom I like will never lessen my love for those whom I do not.
I hope that another person’s love for me will never be a measure of my love for him or her.
I hope that everybody will accept me as I am, but that I never will.
I hope that I will always ask for forgiveness from others, but will never need to be asked for my own . . .
I hope that I will always recognize my limitations, but that I will construct none.
I hope that loving will always be my goal, but that love will never be my idol.
I hope that everyone will always have hope.

Daily Zeus’s thoughts
A man’s dog used to sit on the side of the road waiting for cars to come around. As soon as one came, he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it.
One day a neighbor passing by saw the scene, smiled and asked the dog’s owner, “Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?”
The man replied, “That is not important. The most important question is if he ever caught one, what he would do with it.”
Just like that dog, many of us pursue meaningless goals.
