GOALS: Catching a Car
A man’s dog used to sit on the side of the road waiting for cars to come around. As soon as one came, he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it. One day a neighbor passing by saw the scene, smiled and asked the dog’s owner, “Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?” The man replied, “That is not important.
The most important question is if he ever caught one, what he would do with it.”
Just like that dog, many of us pursue meaningless goals.
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load.
So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
“If you start to think the problem is ‘out there,’ stop yourself. That thought is the problem.”
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
“Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.”

No one can go back and make a brand new start.
Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. There isn’t promise of days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but can promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.
Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Don’t stay on the bumps too long.
When you feel down because you didn’t get what you want, just sit tight, and be happy. There’s a purpose to life’s events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.
You can’t make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, and the rest is up to the person to realize your worth.
It’s better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride. We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give.
Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one who can take his place. Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.
