The Laborers are Few
10 HIMS of the Rock Region gathered this morning in the cool Gloom to run and run we did. Probably the coolest morning of the year thus far and these cooling temps really make for some great running conditions. Several guys are training and tapering for some big races coming up soon so it was great to see such a good group of guys this morning. As the hour approached YHC provided a quick disclaimer and no FNG’s were present and the plan was laid out and it was a simple plan, just as many laps as we can get in until the 0550 – ish time to end. We did some light stretching and a few SSH to get the blood moving and were out. Tatum & Mayflower set the early pace and altogether we got in about 5 miles with a quick stop at the Comporium building where Cocktail led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We started together & finished together and all the PAX did a great job taking care of the six
Once we got back to COT, we closed with some light stretching to cool down and YHC shared the following from Matthew 9 : 35-38
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
The word for this month is “Calling”. We are all called for various things, to help others, to lead others. The opportunities are endless – but we are all gifted by Christ and he wants us to use our gifts to help others. In the scripture, the harvest (need) is plentiful and laborers (us & others) are few. My challenge for the men today was where are you being called and how will you respond? Do you see a need or a way to help? How will you respond?
We closed with announcements & prayers and praises. Great group of guys in the Gloom today & it’s always an honor to lead. Thanks Blueprint for the opportunity to do so
Ponytail out –
While we might be outnumbered, Brothers, we have locked our shields and will keep them locked in the heat of battle. We know that to be true.
Alone, we may go down fighting but we are still easily overcome. But we do not fight alone. We fight behind the Locked Shields of the Minivan Centurions. That shield wall will not be broken.
That is Why We Are Here.
We are F3.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.”

Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water.
As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly.
The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out.
The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature.
Very soon the frog dies.
What killed the frog?
Think about it!
I know many of us will say the boiling water. But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.
We all need to adjust with people & situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust & when we need to move on. There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions.
If we allow people to exploit us
physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so.
Let us decide when to jump!
Let’s jump while we still have the strength.
