Leaders Video

The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good.

As a leader, you are and will continue to be confronted daily by adversaries, setbacks, barriers, and hurdles that get in the way of progress. Somewhere along the way, you will be required to make decisions on behalf of your team and the organization. When you time to speak arrives, you’ll want to do so in a thoughtful and effective way.

Great leaders understand the power that their words can have on others. They use language to bring about positive solutions that support a healthy work environment and enhance the overall results of the team.

These leaders make every effort to utilize language effectively, and in a way that best models the behaviors they seek to inspire in others. Great leaders take time to be thankful, gracious, and humble.
How you think determines your reality

Thinking
(A Man Who Thinks He Can)

When you think you’re beaten, you are.
When you think you dare not, you don’t.
When you’d like to win, but think you can’t
It is a sure thing that you won’t.
When you think that you’ll lose, you’ve lost;
For out in the world you will find
Success begins with a man’s will –
It’s all in the state of mind.
When you think you’re outclassed, you are.

You have got to think BIG to rise;
You have to FEEL sure of yourself
Before you can win a great prize.
Life’s battle does not always go

To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the one who THINKS he can.

SOLUTION ORIENTED

Most people can see problems. That doesn’t require any special ability or talent. Someone who thinks in terms of solutions instead of just problems can be a difference maker. A team filled with people who possess that mind-set can really get things done.

Your personality type, upbringing, and personal history may affect how solution oriented you are naturally. However, anyone can become solution oriented. Consider these truths that all solution-seeking people recognize:

Problems are a matter of perspective.

Obstacles, setbacks, and failures are simply parts of life.

You can’t avoid them. But that doesn’t mean you have to allow them to become problems. The best thing you can do is to meet them with a solution-oriented mind-set. It’s just a matter of attitude.

All problems are solvable.

Some of the great problem solvers have been inventors.

“ If you want to be solution oriented, then you must be willing to cultivate that attitude in yourself too.

Problems either stop us or stretch us. Problems either hurt you or help you. Depending on how you approach them, they’ll stop you from succeeding or stretch you so that you not only overcome them, but also become a better person in the process. The choice is yours.

DO PROBLEMS STOP OR STRETCH YOU?

I Don’t Have an Email Address

A young unemployed man heard that there was a job opening for the position of “Office Boy” at a big company and he went to their HR department to apply for it.

After a very short interview, the HR administrator said:

“You are hired! I will send you the application to fill out, so you start on Monday. What is your email address?” The man said “Madam, I don’t have an email address. I don’t have a computer either.”

Surprised to hear this, the personnel manager said “I find this unacceptable. Everyone has an email. We live in a world of technology,” said the woman and she continued, “I am sorry but you cannot have the job. Go and learn how to set up an email account.”

The man left in despair. He had only $10 in his pocket. He could not decide what to do next. Finally he came up with an idea. He entered a supermarket, bought a 10 kg tomato crate and then he sold the tomatoes door to door. In less than 1 hour he doubled his capital. He did the same thing 3 more times and when he finished he returned home with $80 USD. The man repeated this business the next day and the day after, and so forth. Every day his money doubled or tripled. In time, he bought a cart, then a truck, then his own fleet of trucks.

Five years later, that man had become one of the biggest food retailers. One day he decided to have a life insurance policy and went to an insurance company. After a long conversation with the insurance broker, the latter asked him his email to send him the contract in digital form. The man replied: “I don’t have an email.”

The broker was surprised to hear that. “You don’t have an email, and yet you have built an empire. Do you imagine what you could be today if you had an email?”

The man paused for a while, and replied: “An office boy!”

Don’t be discouraged if you have bad luck today. Better opportunities are always waiting ahead.
